Meet Your Therapist
I am a compassionate therapist committed to guiding AAPI and BIPOC women through the challenges rooted in cultural values, family conflicts, anxiety, depression, exploring intersectionality, and intergenerational trauma. As a South Asian American, I bring a culturally sensitive approach that fosters a connection with my clients. As a therapist, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to support individuals in processing and overcoming the impact of traumatic experiences. I also utilize therapeutic frameworks as Humanistic Person-Centered approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Strengths Based approach.
I will be someone who listens, assists you to identify your goals, and empowers you along the therapeutic process. I will provide you with a non-judgmental, confidential safe space for you to express all you wish to share.
Here’s a little about my personal life. I am a first generation Malayali Christian who is a transplant from New York to Texas. I was born in Kerala, India and moved to the United States at the age of 3. I can relate to the experiences of South Asian Americans because I have lived through the some of the same cultural experiences. My hope, as your therapist, is to help you move through some of the areas where you feel stuck and overwhelmed. I am not just a therapist who sits and listens, I give valuable feedback and with EMDR I have helped clients resolve issues of conflict to live better adjusted lives. I am a big advocate for mental health care. As Asian Americans we place value on medical care but fail to see mental health care as also caring for your body. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, watch Korean dramas, and travel. As your therapist I will be excited to hear your life story as well!
